Conflicts in Relationship? Try Marriage Counselling!

If you have conflicts with your partner and regret your decisions of marrying him or her, don’t delay. Consider marriage counselling! Yes, it can help you dissolve all the conflicts between you and your partner and bring your life back to normal. It should definitely be considered if your relationship is on a verge breakup or divorce. It allows you to discuss your problems, communicate effectively your problems and understanding your as well as your partner’s problems. It makes a great deal of difference in your life and helps you get back on track.

Importance of relationship counselling

  • Open Dialogue with Your Partner: When you opt for relationship counselling, you get a chance to share an open dialogue with your partner in the presence of a relationship counselor. It allows you to pour your heart out and say what you always wanted to. Additionally, it helps you understand what your partner thinks about you and your relationship. You come out with the problems and issues that have been piled up over a number of days, months or years. It also brings out the point of confusions and misunderstanding between you and your spouse.

  • Enables You to be Heard and to Hear: The other benefit of marriage counselling is that it gives you a chance to be heard and to hear what your partner has to say. Listening and communicating are two important blocks of a married life. A relationship reaches on the verge of breaking up only when you do not communicate your problems or issues with your partner. It gives you a chance to be heard and to hear.

  • Identifies the Source of Conflict: The main objective of undergoing marital counselling is to identify the source of conflict between husband and wife. Most of the times, couples don’t know what is troubling them. An open dialogue among them in front of an expert helps them understand their own mistakes and problems and inconvenience that their partner has gone through because of them.

  • Recognizes the Key Emotional Responses in the Relationship: When a couple decides to opt for counselling, the counselor recognizes the key emotional responses in the relationship. This helps them understand what makes them behave in a particular manner and what troubles whom and how they behave in a particular situation or circumstance.

  • Creates New Positive Bonds between the Partners: Proper counselling creates new positive bonds between the partners sorting out all mutual differences and points of conflicts. It helps them start their relationship afresh and treat each other with more love and respect.

  • The couples must opt for marital counselling as a last resort to save their relationship. It can prove to be extremely helpful in sorting out their issues and beginning a new relationship again.

    Home Management

Home Management like business management is both an art as well as science. It can be complicated and the most difficult task to perform or the easiest work to do, depending upon how one takes it! It is often said that someone who fails to manage his home, replicates the same at his office or in his professional life.

We live in an age of uncertainty, which implies that it is all more important to be financially sound enough to meet the contingencies of the future. There are risks at every step, physical, financial, material, emotional and at the same time all of us want to secure our future against any of these. Considering all the contingencies it appears that saving money is the best way out. We often think of saving it in a big way and miss out on small opportunities to save. Home Budgeting is just one of the efficient ways to save money and plan well for the uncertainties ahead.

What is home management then? Is it just planning the finances or is there more to it than that? Well, if you ask me home management is more than just financial planning. Home management encapsulates every aspect of running a home well and since there is more to home than just bricks and mortar; there is more to home management as well.

It includes taking care of the individuals who make up the family and carrying them together as one single unit. Undeniably, budget planning is the most important aspect of home management because money is like oxygen and this is true to any sphere of life. The question therefore remains that where does one start from?

As mentioned in the start of the write up, the job can be the most difficult to perform or the easiest one depending upon how one approaches or one takes it! The difference is of attitude. For efficient you need to have a good attitude and the right attitude start with ‘do not put till tomorrow what you can do today’. Too many times we end up cluttering our homes and making them more chaotic by piling up work tasks. Keep telling yourselves that you will not go to the bed before finishing daily tasks!

The next step is organisation. You need to know how to organise your home, lots of experiments may be needed – you may fail and when you fail many times it means the next thing that can happen to you is ‘success’. A well organised home brings peace and solace if not anything else.

Finally the last and the most important thing in home management is home budgeting. You do not really have to be an expert in accounting to do this. There are lots of software’s available now a days for free, MS excel has many functions that will make Home Budgeting Child play for you.

    Anger Management

Dr. Randy Pauche in his speech which is famously known as ‘the last lecture’ says that, I have never found anger to make any situation better. So true! But anger management may not be that easy at all for people when they confront situations that make them angry!

Since the concept of holistic living is in vogue these days, it’s not at all a bad idea to start the write up with just the same. We my well start by raising the question, ‘what comprises Holistic living’? Living that is in harmony with or ensures the well being of all living entities in our inner and outer world is what we may call as holistic living. It connotes a lifestyle that is in perfect agreement with the environment in which you are living.

In other words it signifies a lifestyle free of anger and stress. Both of them are detrimental to individual and social well being. The cause is basically the same. When things do not go the way we want them to, we feel upset and depending upon the whether we respond or react to the situation we arrive upon a state of emotional misbalance called as anger.

Often when an individual fails to express his/her anger, the same piles up mentally and leads to a condition of stress. The same is true for a social setup. Neither is beneficial to individual and social well being. In fact in one of the studies it was found out that anger and stress are the root causes of unhappiness in human beings. Anger and stress management are concepts that are heavily stressed upon these days.

But managing anger and stress may not be that easy, considering we are living in a very fast paced world that is demanding and looming with uncertainty at every step. Our work and lifestyle are such that there is little scope left for introspection and peace. People have forgotten the concept of living! How to re-start living then? Before we discuss stress and its management, it would be wise to talk of anger management. Once people exercise a control over their anger there are less chances of feeling stressful. Anger well managed means no stress!

It is often very easy for people to admit mistakes in the hindsight. The problem arises how to manage anger in its moment of occurrence? Psychologically controlling asks for shifting ones locus of control from external to internal. People with internal locus of control it is believed and verified through researches, are calm, peaceful, responding and not reacting and happier. For us to manage anger better, we need to shift our locus of control from external to internal.

holistic living calls for absolute involvement and harmony between all parts of an individual’s existence i.e. the head (for thinking), the heart (for feeling), the hands (for giving) and the soul.
